Kerry Colleen Newbold was born in Kingsville, Kleberg, Texas on 31 Jul 1953 and died in San Antonio, Bexar, Texas on 3 Feb 2017. She was the daughter of Harold Ralph "Herk" Newbold and Sara Frances Collins Newbold.

She married Hal Harwell on 27 Aug 1971 in Austin, Travis, Texas. They had five children:

Phillip Clay Harwell (1973 - living);

Paul Curtis Harwell (1974 - living);

Sunshine Brook Harwell;

Misty Andrea Harwell (1980 - living); and

Timothy James Harwell (1985 - living).
