John William Lawhon was born on 25 Sep 1852
in the Curry Creek Settlement (now the Kendalia area), Comal (now Kendall),
Texas and died in San Antonio, Bexar, Texas on 4 Jun 1944. He was the son of
Jesse William Lawhon and
Lovina Penrod Lawhon.
On 1 Jun 1876 he married Sarah Ann Gourley in Kendall County, Texas. They had eight children:
Esther Lawhon who married Thomas Edward Wood on 9 Feb 1904;
Jesse William Lawhon who married Frances "Fannie" Welch on 23 Aug 1911;
Willie Lawhon who married Simon Conrad Schneider on 11 Jan 1905;
Augusta Lawhon who married Edward Kneuper;
John A "Johnnie" Lawhon who married Augusta Walters on 2 Jul 1915;
Leonard Lawhon who never married;
Marcus Lawhon who married Ruth Pearl Nobles on 27 Jan 1925;
Sara Emma Lawhon who married
Calvin George Edge
on 6 May 1916
and
William H Clawson in 1928.
